about us

One of the best known amateur theatre groups in the Guildford area, The Herald Players have been around for over 40 years. But our focus is firmly on the future and on creating new opportunities to deliver amateur theatre at its best – including productions at site-specific venues.

We’re proud of our heritage, however, and we’re still committed to meeting our long-held aims:

To stage a wide range of plays, on a regular basis, aiming for excellence in all aspects of each production

To challenge expectations of what an amateur group can achieve

To encourage involvement in the society’s activities and support the development of individual skills

To have fun

In short, we aim high – not because we have to but because we want to. And we’re always keen to hear from people who like the idea of contributing, whether on stage or off, to making something as good as it can be.
